Why do Pentecostal women wear skirts and nothing else?

Pentecostal women wear skirts because they follow a Bible passage that says they shouldn’t wear the same clothes as men. When people go to a Pentecostal church for worship, they usually see women wearing dresses or skirts that end below the knee, no makeup or jewellery, and long hair that hangs loose or is styled in a complicated way. In line with what the Bible says, these women also dress this way when they go about their daily lives.

The Pentecostal Church teaches its members a set of rules that they should follow in their daily lives and how they look. This is said to show others their faith and bring them closer to the Lord.

“A woman shall not wear what belongs to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God.” Deuteronomy 22:5. This Bible verse says that women should dress in a way that makes them different from men. From a modern point of view, this means that women should wear modest skirts or dresses that hit at or below the knee. When women wear skirts or dresses, it sets them apart from men and keeps them from offending people with clothes that might be too tight or too revealing.
