The word Adidas is derived from the name of the company’s founder, Adolf Dassler; it does not appear in Greek mythology. It combines his nickname “Adi” and his last name’s first three letters, “Das.” Founded on August 18, 1949, is Adidas.
In 1924, German entrepreneur Adi Dassler founded his first sports business in Bavaria. He established Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik, a business with 47 people, in Herzogenaurach 25 years later.
He registered a show with a 3-stripe design beside his business. The Adidas brand would later come to be associated with this design. Until Horst Dassler’s passing in 1987, the Dassler family remained an integral component of Adidas.
