Mona Brown, 62 years old as of 2015, portrays Nadine, a character on “Larry’s Country Diner,” which airs on RFD TV, a rural America-serving cable network. Brown, who is married to ophthalmologist Dave Brown, debuted as Nadine at her church, where “Larry’s Country Diner” founder Larry Black is also a member. Brown, assuming the persona of Nadine, would welcome and chat with fellow church members as they arrived for the annual Valentine’s Banquet.
As the daughter of a clergyman, Mona Brown reportedly drew inspiration for her character Nadine. According to Brown, she created the character by blending the characteristics of many women she encountered at her father’s church and her own relatives.
She performs as Nadine on the television show and on “Larry’s Country Diner” cruises alongside her husband, Homer, who is known as Nadine in real life. Mona and the cast of “Larry’s Country Diner” also tour the country, putting on live performances in Branson, Missouri, and other midwestern cities. At NadineNadine.com, you may purchase a Nadine dessert cookbook, Nadine CDs and DVDs, and a book of Nadine’s favourite church signage.
Mona Brown is a survivor of cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 before joining the Diner ensemble in 2009, when the show premiered.
