Which countries have green, white, and red flags?

Algeria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Burundi, Hungary, and Iran all have national flags that are green, white, and red. Italy, Lebanon, Madagascar, the Maldives, Mexico, and Oman are among the countries sporting green, white, and red flags.

Mexico’s and Italy’s national flags have a similar appearance. Their flags have three solid vertical stripes of green, white, and red running from left to right. The country’s coat of arms, an eagle with a serpent in its talon perched atop a prickly pear cactus, is featured in the centre of the white portion of the Mexican flag. The only stripes on the Italian flag are solid.

Hungary, Bulgaria, and Iran all have three solid horizontal stripes of green, white, and red on their flags, which are identical in appearance. Hungary’s flag is red, white, and green from top to bottom, while Bulgaria’s flag is white, green, and red from top to bottom. From top to bottom, the Iranian flag has horizontal stripes of green, white, and red. The margins of the green and red pieces have “God is Great” printed in white Kufic script, while the white portion has a red sign of Iran in the centre.

The remaining flags are a mix of green and red with a variety of designs. A white vertical bar runs down the left side of the flag, with red and green horizontal bars running down the right. A white and red ornamental stripe appears on the Belarus flag. Oman’s flag features a sword and two daggers. Algeria’s flag features a red crescent moon and a star, while Lebanon’s flag features a green cedar tree. A white crescent moon appears on the Maldives flag, whereas four red stars appear on the Burundi flag.
