The World (formerly known as “WWF New York”) was formerly owned and operated by World Wrestling Entertainment. It was at the junction of Broadway and 43rd Street in New York City’s Paramount Theatre building.
The restaurant and nightclub portions of The World were closed in 2003. The location’s retail business stayed operational until 2006, when the Hard Rock Cafe moved in. As of 2014, the WWE does not operate any of its own retail locations. It sells items on the WWE website and to a lesser extent through Kmart, Hot Topic, Kohl’s, and Target.
