The typical age of a fourth grader in the United States is nine years old. Depending on the child’s birthday and the day they started school, the age can change.
Children who take the regular elementary school curriculum attend fourth grade at the age of nine. In spite of this, schools are increasingly providing transitional kindergarten programmes to younger students as the present educational landscape changes.
Although the programmes are designed for students who are on the younger end of the spectrum, the majority of TK programmes need students to be qualified for traditional kindergarten.
In the fourth grade, a student who started in a TK programme would probably be 10 years old.
