Patrick Jane, a character from the television series “The Mentalist,” drives an early 1970s-era Citron DS. This automobile was produced in France from 1955 to 1975 and sold in the United States from 1956 to 1972.
The Citron DS was the first mass-produced vehicle to utilise Paul Magès’ hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension. The vehicle also allows the driver to lift or lower the chassis by simply pressing a button.
Patrick Jane, portrayed by Simon Baker, is a consultant for the crime-fighting division of the California Bureau of Investigation in the television show. He employs his acute talents of observation and deduction, as well as his expertise of social engineering, to help solve murders.
