Depending on whether the stamp is printed in a booklet or a roll, the size of a normal U.S. postage stamp varies slightly. In 2012, a booklet of 20 Four Flags Forever stamps with dimensions of 0.87 inches wide by 0.90 inches tall was produced.
The dimensions of the stamp include the border around its perimeter. Occasionally, stamps produced on a roll are narrower than those in a booklet. The United States Postal Service has many stamp printers, and each printer produces stamps of a slightly varied size. The size difference is typically less than one millimetre.
