What is the procedure for looking up an AKC registration?

Use the features on the AKC website’s Store section to look up an American Kennel Club or AKC registration for a specific dog. The purchase of an AKC Certified Pedigree certification verifies whether or not a purebred dog is registered with the club. However, in order to use this feature of the AKC store to verify the authenticity of a dog’s AKC registration, the registration number and registered name must be available.

Since 1884, the American Kennel Club has maintained a registry of purebred dogs. The club recognises a total of 189 different dog breeds.

The image below depicts one method of verifying a dog’s AKC registration by purchasing it through the AKC website’s online store.
