Window chalk, often known as car window paint, can be cleaned using soap, water, and, if necessary, WD-40 or acetone. People use window chalk to write messages on and otherwise decorate their car windows; a common use of window chalk is to write “Just Married” on the back window of a car.
When it comes to removing window chalk, there are a few measures to take.
The first thing he or she should do is scrape off as much chalk as possible with a razor. This removes a lot of the chalk and makes the next steps much easier.
After that, wash the window with warm water and soap. If the chalk is water-based, this will clean the window without the need for any additional steps.
If the chalk is oil-based, you have two choices for removing what’s left. Either WD-40 or acetone can be used. A thin layer of WD-40 lubricant should be applied with a cloth to clean the window. The paint should have dissolved after 10 to 20 minutes, and the area can be washed with water and soap again. It’s possible that this procedure will have to be repeated. To use acetone, make sure the area is well ventilated first, and then put on rubber gloves. If you rub acetone into the chalk with a dry cloth, it should dissolve immediately. The window should be cleansed with soap and water once the oil-based chalk has been removed.
