What Is Ina Garten’s Recipe for Quiche?

Ina Garten’s recipe for quiche is a tart cooked with soft goat cheese, eggs, heavy cream, flour, and butter. This recipe begins with a buttery crust and features an eggy, creamy, cheesy, and herb-infused filling.

Blend together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to begin the quiche. Cut 12 tablespoons of unsalted butter into chunks and add to the flour mixture in a food processor. Combine the butter and flour in a food processor until a crumbly mixture forms, then add 3 to 4 tablespoons of ice water gradually. On a floured surface, knead the dough, then shape it into a ball and chill it for 30 minutes. The dough is rolled out and placed in a tart pan. Spread aluminium foil over the crust, then press it with beans. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes before removing the beans and foil and baking for an additional 10 minutes.

While the crust bakes, sauté for five minutes 3/4 cup of chopped shallots in 1 tablespoon of butter. Blend 10 1/2 ounces of soft goat cheese flavoured with garlic and herbs until crumbly, then stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, three eggs, 1/4 cup of chopped basil, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/8 teaspoon of butter. Once the mixture is thoroughly combined, distribute the goat cheese and egg mixture over the shallots on the bottom of the pie crust. Continue baking the quiche for 30 to 40 minutes.
