A coalition is a group of cheetahs. Coalitions are usually made up of two or three males, and they are often made up of brothers. Male cheetahs who are not related to each other rarely join coalitions.
Cheetahs group together to protect their territory from males from other groups. On the other hand, female cheetahs don’t live with other animals. They roam and hunt alone for most of their lives.
Female cheetahs only get together with other cheetahs to mate. Female cheetahs usually take care of their cubs for two years. After that, the cubs leave to join groups or live on their own. When taking care of their young, females stay near at least one other female.
