What Connecticut Holidays Are Liquor Stores Closed?

The Connecticut General Statutes, Section 30-91(D), prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. On holidays, tavern-permitted restaurants may offer alcohol during regular business hours.

In Connecticut, alcohol sales are legal from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, unless the business is a café or tavern, in which case sales are legal from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday. These hours may be changed by a town meeting decision in any town.
