What Colors Represent Veterans Day?

Even though there is no official colour for Veterans Day, many people use yellow or the colours red, white, and blue to show their support. People often think of the U.S. Armed Forces when they see these colours.

Support Our Troops is a Canadian idea that is also used in the United States. It is shown with yellow ribbons or clothes. This colour reminds us of troops who are missing in action (MIA), prisoners of war (POW), or far from home.

Red, white, and blue are the colours of the U.S. flag and stand for patriotism. Ribbons in these colours can be worn on Veterans Day to honour those who have served in the military.

Veterans Day, which used to be called Armistice Day, is celebrated every year on November 11 in the United States. It is a time to remember the service of living veterans.
