What Are Some Car Names That Start With the Letter “E”?

You might be surprised by how many cars have names that start with “E.” There have been a lot of cars with “E” names, from makes to models to a whole line. One of the most famous cars ever made starts with a “E.”

SUVs and Crossovers made by Ford

Ford Motor Company has named almost all of their SUVs and crossovers with words that start with “E.” There are a lot of “E” names for Ford cars, from the small Ecosport and Escape to the popular Edge, Explorer, and Expedition. In fact, the Flex is the only SUV or crossover that Ford makes right now that doesn’t start with “E.”

The Excursion was another “E” SUV made by Ford from 2000 to 2005. This SUV was a heavy-duty model with a lot of power and a lot of different uses, but it got bad gas mileage. Critics hated the Excursion, but drivers liked it, so Ford stopped making it because they were told to make cars with better gas mileage and less pollution.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Since 1993, Mercedes-Benz in Germany has been making cars in the E-Class line. The “E” in “E-Class” stands for the German word for “fuel-injection engine,” which is “eEinspritzmotor.” The E-Class line of cars is in the middle of the range for the company.

From 1953 until the E-Class line came out, Mercedes-Benz put the “E” designation on different cars with fuel injection engines.

The car with the most bad press.

Since Henry Ford started the company in 1903, Ford has made some of the most well-known cars in the world. By the 1950s, the company had grown more ambitious and put out a car called the Edsel, whose name has come to mean “failure.”

In a way, the Edsel stood for everything that was too much in the 1950s. The car was made by a large group of executives and designers, and when it was finished, it was big and ugly. The Edsel didn’t last more than three years because of problems with production and a slowing economy.

“E” cars with three wheels

Since the end of the 20th century, two companies with names starting with “E” have started making or are planning to make cars with three wheels. Since 1997, Egy-Tech in Egypt has been making three-wheeled smart cars for drivers in cities. Together with the government of Egypt, the company makes cars.

American businessman and inventor Paul Elio started making plans for a three-wheeled car in 2009. He wants to sell it for a low price. Elio Motors hasn’t started making the cars yet, but he wants to make them in the U.S. The cars will be safe, good for the environment, and easy to change.

“E” cars from other countries

There are a number of foreign car companies whose names start with “E.” Elva is a British company that has been making race cars since the 1950s. Elemental is also a British company that makes roadsters. Eicher is an Indian company that has been making trucks since the 1940s, and Elfin is an Australian company that makes sports cars.

“E” Classic Cars

In the long history of cars around the world, there have also been “E” cars. Eagle was a brand of American Motors. When Chrysler bought American Motors in 1988, it kept the Eagle brand going until 1999. From the 1960s to the 1980s, Excalibur made high-end cars.

Several British brands that start with “E” were popular at different times, such as Essex in the 1930s, Enfield in the 1960s, and ERF Trucks from 1933 to 2007.

Other Cars with a “E”

The Honda Element, the Chevy Equinox, and the Buick Enclave are also cars that start with “E.” Luxury SUVs with “E” words in their names include the Cadillac Escalade and the Land Rover Evoque.
