A 30-inch waist is considered small. Sizes 29 to 31 are categorised as small, 32 to 34 as medium, and 36 to 38 as big. Anything above 44 is XXL, and anything between 40 and 42 is XL.
The term “waist circumference” refers to the area around the waist. It is used to examine the stomach area for fat. A tape measure is wrapped around the body, starting at the hipbone, to measure this. Men and women who measure more than 40 inches around the abdomen have a higher chance of developing heart disease.
