How Much Language Do We Use Each Day?

The average human talks about 16,000 words every day, according to a University of Arizona research, though this number can vary depending on a person’s age, culture, and other factors. This study refutes earlier claims that women say over 10,000 more words per day than males by demonstrating that there was no statistically significant difference between male and female subjects.

The University of Arizona study subjects were given devices that recorded their utterances every 12.5 minutes while awake in order to track how many words they spoke during an 8-year period. One of the researchers claimed that the three subjects who spoke the most were all male.
