How Many Women Are in the World?

As of January 1, 2019, it was thought that there were 3,800,750,379 women in the world. There were about 3,868,358,699 men as of the same date. That’s a total of 7,669,109,078 people. The United Nations says that there are 101.7 men for every 100 women on Earth.

China and India are home to more than one-third of the world’s people. As of December 2019, 18.5% of the world’s people lived in China, and 17.85% of the world’s people lived in India. India is likely to have the most people in the world by 2024. At 4.29%, the United States was far behind in third place. Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia, and Mexico are some of the other countries in the top 10. Nigeria’s population is growing the fastest in the world, and by 2024, it is expected to have more people than the U.S.

Even though there are slightly more men than women in the world, this isn’t always the case in every country. In about 125 countries, there are more women than men. Nepal, Hong Kong, Curacao, Martinique, Latvia, Guadeloupe, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus have more women than men.

In 2018, 151,141,033 people were born alive around the world. Even though it looks like the population is growing, women on every continent are having less babies. As of 2017, the average number of babies born per woman around the world was 2.5, but there was a big difference between the continents. The average African woman has 4.7 kids, but the average European woman only has 1.6.

How old the people are

As of 2019, the middle age of people around the world is 30. About 25.3% of the people living there were under 15 years old, and 7.5% were 65 or older. This means there are 4,802,743,202 people between 15 and 64 years old. There are 315,115,888 women over the age of 65 and 250,596,060 men. There are more men than women in the younger age groups. There are 2,427,864,967 men and 2,374,897,006 women between the ages of 15 and 64. In the group of people under 15 years old, there are 1,004,638,355 men and 937,581,437 women.

Death and the Number of People

As of 2015, the average number of years a baby born that year could expect to live was 70. This number is expected to rise to 77 by 2050. In 2018, 59,329,031 people died all over the world. Ischemic heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Alzheimer’s disease, lower respiratory infections, diabetes, car accidents, lung cancer, diarrheal diseases, and tuberculosis are some of the leading causes of death.

Projections of the population

Even though no one knows for sure how the world’s population will grow in the coming years, it is growing quickly. Every year, about 83 million people are born. Experts say that by the year 2050, there will be 9.8 billion people on Earth, and by the year 2100, there will be 11.1.
