Steve Young won three Super Bowls when he was a quarterback in the NFL. As the backup quarterback in Super Bowls XXIII and XXIV, he won two rings. As the starting quarterback in Super Bowl XXIX, he got his third ring.
As quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Steve Young won all of his Super Bowl rings. He was the backup quarterback to Joe Montana from 1987 until 1990, during which time he earned his first two rings.
At the end of the 1994 season, he led the 49ers to a 49-26 win over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX. For that game, he was also named the Most Valuable Player.
