Plate service, often known as American service, is a style of service in which food is prepared and portioned in a restaurant’s kitchen. A server then serves the food to the customers on plates.
Starting on the left, waiters serve food to the folks at the table. From the right, the drinks are served. According to Cvent, this is the most cost-effective and efficient restaurant service. However, the meal should not be served too soon after it has been prepared because it may grow cold and discoloured before it reaches the customers. A huge platter of food is put in the centre of the table for family or English-style service, and everyone at the table takes a portion of food from the centre dish.
