How Do You Check a Company’s Better Business Bureau Reputation?

As of July 2015, you can look up a company’s Better Business Bureau reputation using the online BBB directory at BBB.org. Accredited businesses are graded on a scale from A plus to F by the BBB.

Click on BBB Directory from the BBB.org homepage. Enter the company’s name into the search field and conduct a search. To narrow down the search results, you can enter the business’s location. In the search bar, you can also input a business’s URL, phone number, or email address. To search for a certain category of businesses, click Category above the search box, input the category, and then do a search.

You can specify a search radius by clicking on the arrow next to Distance and selecting an option from the drop-down box after entering a location.

Each business page on BBB.org includes the business’s name, phone number, street address, and website address. If the company is BBB-certified, the page displays its BBB rating and the date it became accredited. Additionally, the website includes variables that contribute to the BBB rating, as well as any consumer complaints or reviews registered with the BBB. Under the Additional Information header, additional information about the business, including its products or services, alternate names, and contact information for its senior employees, is provided.
