GM Socrates: What Is It?

For General Motors employees, there is a web-based application called Socrates. The initiative helps employees keep up with developments and changes at the organisation. At GMID.GM.com, employees must register for Socrates using their special General Motors identity numbers and birthdates.

Socrates is a tool used by General Motors employees to manage their vacation and health insurance benefits. Additionally, they can monitor their own or the overall development of initiatives.

The website also provides information about the company’s protocol and safety requirements. To protect the privacy of its users’ personal information, the website employs a variety of security measures.

More than 212,000 people working in 23 different time zones and speaking more than 50 different languages make up General Motors’ workforce in 2015. The corporation has 21,000 dealerships spread over more than 120 countries and 396 sites across six continents.

In addition to other occupations, employees design new automobiles, new manufacturing facilities, and new marketing methods.

The corporate headquarters of General Motors are in Detroit, Michigan. Among the brands owned by the firm are Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac. The firm underwent a Chapter 11 reorganisation in 2009 and stopped making Saturn, Hummer, and Pontiac automobiles.

As of June 2015, taxpayers have contributed more than $51 billion to the bailout of General Motors, of which $39 billion had been recovered. The New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange both provide stock trading for General Motors.
