Online renewal of the Transportation Worker Identification Card is not possible. To renew their cards, applicants must appear in person at an enrollment office and submit evidence proving citizenship.
Prior to the expiration date of their present cards, applicants may renew their TWIC cards at any time. The TSA suggests applying for a new card at least 10 weeks before the expiration date of the current card.
The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is an identification card necessary for some personnel operating on vessels subject to the federal Maritime Transportation Security Act. A TWIC card is good for five years and includes the owner’s name, photo, two fingerprints, and expiration date.
