Can Lysol eradicate ringworm?

One form of fungus that causes ringworm, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, is eradicated by Lysol disinfectant sprays when used as instructed. Regrettably, a wide variety of other fungi can also cause ringworm on different regions of the body.

Tinea is the medical term for ringworm, a fungus that affects the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Dermatophytes, a class of fungi, are to blame. Different members of the group of fungus are more prevalent in various parts of the globe.

They can flourish on people, animals, and dirt as well as on the surfaces of goods like combs, carpets, and towels. Some sources advise using Lysol to clean any surfaces that might be home to fungi and spores that cause ringworm.
